In 1941/1942 the Germans established a coastal battery on Nordarnøy. At the site today there are three 15-cm guns, a command tower and the remnants of a number of buildings and installations. Guided tours are available if booked well in advance.

How do I get there?

Ferry (about 45 minutes) from Sund or Horsdal to Sørarnøy. From the ferry it is 5km north along a country road.
