The ”bygdetun” is just a stone’s throw from the busy streets of central Fauske. It faces the fjord and is surrounded by a beautiful birch-wood. The old houses tell their own story of the past and its people.
This is a pretty area suitable for families. You can visit it to learn more about Fauske’s history or just to relax. There are excellent opportunities for experiencing art and culture, playing games or having a barbecue.
You can come here to learn about the daily lives and history of people who lived in this district in the past. You can study our large collection of textiles or, if you are more technically inclined, look at our special collection of telecommunications equipment. In addition, we have an exhibition on Johannes Brateng, who was a significant figure both in this area and abroad. Per Barclay’s contribution to Artscape Nordland is also here.
Fauske Tourist Information is located here and offers advice on other things to do in the area.
