The museum is situated at Moldjord by a beautiful salmon river. It has been established at the old vicarage, which dates from 1857. There are 11 farm buildings from the municipality of Beiarn here which were originally built in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Exhibitions of old tools, everyday articles and a farmyard can be viewed here. Farming, forestry and craftwork are the main themes of the museum. The meeting of the cultural heritages of the interior and the coast can be experienced here.

In the summer we run a small café and souvenir shop at the museum. It is also possible to bring your own food and have a barbecue in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

How do I get there?

Take RV812 from the E6 in Saltdal and then RV813 from Vesterli over Beiarfjellet.  From here there is a magnificent view over Beiardalen, which lies between Beiarfjorden and Svartisen. There is a daily bus connection to Bodø (100km).
